Is That Your Final Answer?
I am amazed at what becomes popular in our culture sometimes. Does anyone remember ABC’s game show "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" Can you remember the phrase that would be said after they gave their answer?....... "Is that your final answer?" became globally popular and even a smart mouthed response to almost any request.
There are times in life when we hear, perhaps more subtly, "Is that your final answer". It comes from God, who so desperately wants us to choose life - eternal life with Him. He gives second chances. In fact, you could call Him the God of the second chance. After all, that’s what grace is, a second chance, a free gift - a guaranteed lifeline!

Church Convictions that Changed the World
Acts 2:41 tells us, in referring to Peter sharing the Gospel with the crowd at Pentecost, that “Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.” Much present-day evangelism seeks to make coming to Christ easy. Many today would be appalled that Peter made the cost of coming to Christ so high. How could he expect them to turn their backs publicly on their culture? How could he ask them to risk becoming outcasts among their families and society? How could he demand that they accept as Messiah the very One their leaders had rejected and executed? They would no doubt predict that the results of Peter’s sermon would be minimal. That was not the case, however.

Final Words
Today is a bitter sweet day for me. It is sweet because it is the Lord’s Day. I always look forward to Sunday. I love my job and I love preaching the Word of God. Each Sunday, I count it as a high privilege and honor the be here as a Christian and a preacher. It is bitter because today is my last Sunday at East 40 as your preacher. I want to take this space to let you know that I am thankful for the opportunity afforded to me to be the preacher at East 40.

Restore New Testament Prayer
This morning, I want to look at the devotion that the early church had to prayer. I want to look at their commitment and see what things they did that we can take and apply to the church of today. Both individually and corporately, we need a strong commitment to prayer. This commitment goes beyond lip service and should go into practice. This begins with you and me personally deciding that prayer should be an important part of our lives. Today, the question for both the church and each person is: how much do we really value prayer?

Restore New Testament Community
Today, we continue in a series that we have called “Restore.” We have talked about the importance of restoring the church to being what God intended it to be. Today, I want to take a look at the example the early church was of a close-knit community. I believe that this is a concept that has been diminished in the church over the years. So often, we are busy with our own lives and with our own things that we seldom invite other people deeply into our lives. In the New Testament, this is the idea called “fellowship”. Biblical fellowship is much more than just being together. It is a mutual sharing. It is making available to others what is ours.

Restore New Testament Evangelism
This morning we are continuing in a series titled "Restore". We are looking at aspects of the early church that have been lost throughout the centuries. It is our aim to restore the church to be more like what God intended.
Today, we are going to look at how the early church was committed to reaching people with the Gospel. The early church grew rapidly. I believe that their pattern is a pattern for us to follow. Today, I believe we need a personal commitment to sharing our faith with those around us.

Restore New Testament Doctrine
Today, we start a new series of sermons entitled “Restore”. Throughout the next few weeks we will take a look back at what the church looked like in the New Testament. It is our aim and goal to be more like that church. Throughout the years things have changed. Culture has influenced the church. Different teachings have replaced Biblical teachings. We want to look back at the New Testament and seek to be like the New Testament Church.
This morning, we will examine New Testament doctrine. Sounds exciting, doesn’t it? Perhaps some would want to believe that doctrine or what we believe does not really matter. However, we find that early church was devoted to the Apostle’s doctrine.

Do Not Covet
Today, we are continuing in a series of sermons focused on the Ten Commandment. Actually, we are taking a look at the last of those Ten Commandments today. This commandment reminds us that we should not covet. We do not use the word “covet” in everyday life. However, the Bible speaks clearly about the danger of coveting. To covet is to wants something that someone else has. This commandment is interesting. It is interesting because it is the first and only of the Ten Commandments that deal specifically with a heart issue rather than a physical action. It is interesting that the breaking of this commandment often leads to the breaking of the other commandments. People steal because they first covet. People often murder and commit adultery because of coveting. Coveting is a serious sin. However, at the root of the idea of coveting is discontentment.
