What We Believe

THE BIBLE: It is God's Holy Word, without error in its original form and inspired by God through the Holy Spirit to its writers. (1 Corinthians 2:12-13; 2 Timothy 3:14-16; 2 Peter 1:20-21) It is the final authority for all matters of faith and practice (Isaiah 40:8; Romans 15:4; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Timothy 3:16) and teachers that the pattern to follow and to receive Christ as Savior is to believe in Jesus Christ as God's Son, repent of your sin, confess Christ as Lord and Savior, and be immersed in baptism. (Romans 5:1-2, 6:1-7, 10:9-10; Luke 24:45-47; Acts 2:38, 3:19, 17:30; 2 Peter 3:9; Matthew 10:32; 1 John 4:15; Galatians 3:27; Colossians 2:12; 1 Peter 3:21)

ONE GOD: Father, Son and Holy Spirit

Matthew 5:16, 6:1,4,8,9; James 1:17; John 1:1, 14:19; Genesis 1:2; 2 Peter 1:21

JESUS CHRIST: God's only Son who took on human form to come into the world as its Savior. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. He died on a cross, was buried and rose again bodily from the grave. He ascended into Heaven where He is seated at the Father's right hand, and He will return to the earth to judge both the living and the dead
John 1:14, 3:9, 3:16, 14:1-3, 20:24-29; Hebrews 1:1-3; Matthew 1:18, 24:36-42; Luke 1:26-27, 22:69, 23:44, 24:8; 1 Corinthians 15:3-8; Acts 1:1-9, 10-11, 10:39-42; Colossians 3:1; 1 Peter 4:5

THE HOLY SPIRIT: A part of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit was sent to indwell in every Christian to act as guide, counselor, teacher, and who enables us to live Christ-like lives empowered for works of service.
John 16:5; Acts 1:7-8, 2:38; Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 3:15, 12:4-11; 2 Timothy 1:14; Galatians 5:16-25

SIN AND SALVATION: We are not sinners at birth, but rather sinful in nature because of Adam's first choice to act against God's plan and will. As a sinner, man is lost and separated from God. (Acts 4:12; Romans 3:23). Salvation is a gift of God's grace to man and comes through the blood of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 26:28; Romans 5:9; Ephesians 2:8-9; 1 Peter 1:18-19; 1 John 1:7)  The New Testament pattern of receiving this gift is to believe in Jesus Christ as God's Son, repent of your sins, confess Christ as Lord and Savior, and be immersed in baptism. (Romans 5:1-2, 6:17; Luke 24:45-47; Acts 2:38, 3:19, 17:30; 2 Peter 3:9; Matthew 10:32; 1 John 4:15; Galatians 3:27; Colossians 2:12; 1 Peter 3:21)

THE CHURCH: The body and bride of Christ. We see ourselves not as the only Christians, but as Christians only.
Matthew 16:13-18; Acts 2:14-47

ELDERS: God has ordained that elders are to be spiritual leaders and authorities over the local congregation. Thus, we are self-governed and self-supported.
Acts 20:28; 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5:1-4
